The short version

Standu collects nothing. No analytics, no telemetry, no tracking, no cloud sync, no account required. Everything stays on your Mac. That's it.

About Standu

Standu is a macOS menu bar application that provides break reminders with full-screen overlays, guided breathing exercises, and idle detection. It is developed and published by Standu ("we", "us", or "our").

Information we collect

We do not collect any personal information. Specifically:

• No personal data — We do not collect your name, email address, location, or any other identifying information.
• No usage analytics — We do not track how you use the app, which features you use, or how often you use them.
• No telemetry — We do not send any data from your device to our servers or any third-party service.
• No crash reporting — We do not collect crash logs or diagnostic data.
• No cookies or tracking — The Standu website does not use cookies, analytics scripts, or tracking pixels.

Data stored on your device

Standu stores the following data locally on your Mac using macOS UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device:

• App settings — Your reminder configurations, intervals, cooldown preferences, and behavior settings.
• Session statistics — Completion counts, XP, level progress, and session history.
• Onboarding status — Whether you have completed the initial setup walkthrough.
• Trial status — The start date of your free trial period.

You can reset all stored data at any time from the Settings panel within the app.

Idle detection

Standu monitors keyboard and mouse activity to detect when your Mac is idle. This is used solely for the auto-pause feature, which pauses break reminders when you step away from your computer. No input content is recorded, logged, or transmitted. Only the elapsed time since the last input event is measured.

In-app purchases

Standu offers optional premium features through in-app purchases. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We do not receive, store, or have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or transaction details beyond what Apple provides to verify your purchase status on-device.

Third-party services

Standu does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics services, advertising frameworks, or external APIs. The only network communication is between the app and Apple's App Store servers for purchase verification, which is handled by Apple's StoreKit framework.

Children's privacy

Standu does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. Since we collect no personal information from any user, no special provisions are necessary.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change this privacy policy, we will update this page with the new policy and the date of the change. Since we have no way to contact you (we don't have your email), we encourage you to review this page periodically.
